In close cooperation with the prestigious German Humboldt University of Berlin we have developed an innovative technology which allows soil to become intelligent and proactive. Smart Soil Technologies GmbH i. G. collaborates with Humboldt University of Berlin and with the Technology Management Team of multitiv GmbH in an effort to create high-tech soil products.

Our smart technology allows us to store valuable substances for every kind of plant directly in the soil and release them as needed, i. e. the right amount at the right time.

This unique technology enables the soils to become intelligent. It can self-regulate important characteristics like the pH value, release and control pesticides and fertilizer or control moisture.

Technology

Our smart technology adds potent and convenient features to the soil. It determines the correct timing to release a substance in the specifically required amount. All substances are placed directly into the soil in an elaborate process in ours labs and factories before we deliver to our valued customers. Soils can be customized to also contain organic fertilizers, pesticides, or other important agents. By leveraging our sophisticated sensor and controlled-release system, soils are never polluted with any chemicals. Most importantly, soils enjoy optimal pH at all times.

Philipp Hilbert

Philipp discovered his entrepreneurial passion during his studies in industrial engineering at Technical University of Berlin. Ever since he has initiated and participated in several projects and made valuable experiences in many aspects of founding young companies. His activities include analytical financial calculations, business modeling, UX design, product design, brand development, project management and a supervisory committee position. He has work in the payment industry, a social video platform, communication technology, IT security, healthcare and now agricultural engineering.

Dr. rer. nat. Tatjana Carle

After her PhD Tatjana worked with Hamid on technological development and business networking. Dr. rer. nat. Parvin Sharifi

Parvin has a PhD in physics with a specialization on material synthesis and classification of nano-structured materials. She loves applying her theoretical expertise in chemistry and physics to the practical research at Smart Soil Technologies. She enjoys the rare and special gift of combining a personal passion, gardening, with a professional passion for lab work and chemistry.

PD Dr. rer. nat. Mohsen Makki

Mohsen is a habilitated geographer. He has been working on improving soils in urban areas for a long time. Previous to joining up with Smart Soil Technologies, he has planned to develop a solution which facilitates planting greenery on balconies and roof tops. He is a major contributor to the TerraTectum concept and is the chief consultant of our scientific team.

Dr. rer. nat. Jan Lentschke

Jan studied geography and has a PhD on natural hazards in Kazachstan’s mountain areas. In his capacities as scientific employee at Humboldt University of Berlin he concentrates on research and education activities about physical geography which includes everything from mountains to urban areas. Since 2016 Jan the head of lab research at the geographical institute. In cooperation with his colleague Mohsen he supports the development of TerraTectum smart soil as a consultant.

M. Sc. Kolja Thestorf

Kolja is a physical geopgrapher with a focus on soil science, sedimentology and geochemistry. He is currently doing his doctorate in the field of urban soil science and the pollution of soil in urban regions. He feels that sustainable ecological concepts are an important aspect in urban planning, e. g. the expansion of green areas and the improvement of the urban climate. TerraTectum smart soils can help in all of these topics, thus motivating him highly to contribute. Kolja works closely with Parvin’s research results and uses them to conduct physical and chemical analyses.

M. Sc. Leon Horst

Leon studierte Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik an der TU Berlin, sowie Technology Management an der University of California, Santa Barbara. Schon während des Studiums begann Leon unterschiedliche Gründungsprojekte zu starten in den Branchen FinTech, Manufacturing, Food & Beverages. Heute ist Leon als Digital Transformation Consultant in Berlin, Singapur und Toronto tätig. Bei Smart Soil Technology treibt Leon maßgeblich die Entwicklung einer innovativen IoT Plattform voran und koordiniert die Interoperabilität zwischen System und smarter Sensorik.
